Local drama club, Ury Players, celebrated their 60th birthday at the weekend. The entrance to the Upper Town Hall was filled with a display of past productions and many former members brought along old photo albums which caused much hilarity.
As well as the catching up there was lots of entertainment on offer. A Rogers and Hammerstein medley was sung to remember the period when the Players did lots of full scale musical productions such as Oklahoma and Sound of Music. Chair, Freda Adams hailed the evening a great success: “It was lovely to see so many old faces back for a reminisce and a natter. The entertainment went down really well. May this success carry on for another 60 years!”
