That’s Showbiz Productions are taking to the Tivoli Theatre this month to stage the North East Premier of Flashdance the musical.

Set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the show revolves around 18-year-old Alex (Hannah Turner), a welder by day and ‘flashdancer’ by night, and her dreams of attending the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy.

Established in 2009 by David McMullan, That’s Showbiz Productions has staged several revue shows in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire and Angus, raising thousands of pounds for local and national charities.

This year sees a change in the running of the company as David is joined by Catriona his wife who is also the choreographer for Flashdance.

The pair have worked tirelessly to bring this production to the stage however, they couldn’t have done it without the help of the committee who are raising money for Anchor Unit in Aberdeen along with a second undecided charity.

This year’s cast hail from all over the north-east from Arbroath, Montrose, Stonehaven, Portlethen, Huntly and Banff and we have a vast range of ages. The show opens on Wednesday March 23-26 starting at 7:30pm and a Saturday Matinee at 2pm.
