This new competition for the Mearns Camera Club was judged on Monday, April 14, by Malcolm McBeath from Kirriemuir.

He is a member of Dundee Photographic Club, and members could submit up to four digital images which had been entered into any of the Mearns club’s competitions during the current session.

The overall winning image was the Digital Image Of The Year. Malcolm said he enjoyed looking at the work and there was much to admire.

There was a wide variety of subject matter and a lot of the images were of a high standard.

He said he was looking for good composition, content, technical ability and a strong visual appeal.

The results were as follows: 1 (with 20 points) - ‘Over The Top’ by Neil Weston, 2 (with 19 points) - ’Cloudy Rhum ‘ by Brian Doyle, 3 (with 19 points) - ‘Pirouette’ by Ros Shanks

Congratulations to Neil who will receive his award at the club’s annual award ceremony at the Royal Hotel next Monday, April 28.
