Salons around Kincardine and Mearns discovered this week that they had been shortlisted for a national awards ceremony next month.
The Scottish Hair & Beauty Awards, organised by INAA.com, will be taking place on June 1 at the Thistle Hotel, Glasgow.
Four local salons will be represented at the glittering affair hosted by celebrity couple Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan.
Bespoke Hair & Beauty, Laurencekirk, along with Edge Hair and Beauty, Fusion Hairdressing and Buttercup Beauty, all in Stonehaven, have been shortlisted for awards.
With a public voting system, the awards are very much a celebration of local talent.
Winners are a true reflection of quality and customer service as chosen by members of the general public.
To enter the competition, dress makers, florists, photographers, caterers, and others throughout Scotland have been nominated by devoted clients that have experienced exceptional service.
Nominations have come in from far and wide for the event which is destined to be a sparkling evening in the Scottish calendar.
Bespoke Hair & Beauty has been shortlisted in the Hair Salon of the Year and the Beauty Salon of the Year categories, and - Christina Pert has been named as a finalist in the expert nail technician category, an award she won in 2013.
Gail Craig, co-owner, said: “We are incredibly excited to have been named as finalists and would like to thank all our fabulous clients who took the time to vote for us.
‘‘It’s amazing to be in the running for awards.”
Edge Hair and Beauty have been nominated for four awards - North-east hair salon of the year, Beauty blogger of the year, Julie Baxter for nail technician of the year and Natalie Coull for hair stylist of the year.
Buttercup Beauty is up for salon of the year, Lynne Brown for make up artist of the year and Fusion Hairdressing is in the final five for Hair Salon of the year (North) award.
