Marykirk WRI come out on top

Once again, the ladies from Marykirk WRI won the Kincardineshire round 
of the SWRI Variations on a Theme competition which was held in Cookney 
Hall. They beat off stiff opposition from Fettercairn WRI on the subject 
of

Once again, the ladies from Marykirk WRI won the Kincardineshire round of the SWRI Variations on a Theme competition which was held in Cookney Hall. They beat off stiff opposition from Fettercairn WRI on the subject of "Scotland and the Scots." Adjudicator, Ken Nichol praised both teams for the tremendous amount of work that had gone in to compiling two excellent, varied programmes. The ladies from Marykirk will represent Kincardineshire in the Scottish final in Oban on 8th November. Adjudicator Ken Nichol presents the trophy for Variations on a Theme to the Marykirk WRI team of Marian Finlayson, Olive Henry, Sheila Valentine and Marie Johnston while Federation Chairman Hazel Robson looks on.

The ladies from Marykirk will represent Kincardineshire in the Scottish final in Oban on November 8.
