Open Air Pool AGM will be first as a charity

The Friends of Stonehaven Open Air Swimming Pool will hold their first AGM as a registered charity on Wednesday 5 December in Invercarron Resource Centre, Low Wood Road, Stonehaven at 7.30pm.

Mike Robins, Chair of the Friends said: “We are hoping for a good turn-out. This is an important AGM for us now that we are a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO).

“It has been an extremely eventful year for both the Friends and the Pool, not only with setting up the new organisation last April and updating the members database, but also with storm damage last winter, significant repairs to the boundary wall and both new pool covers and new lockers installed in time for an amazingly successful opening weekend.”

The Trustees of the SCIO hope that many of the wider Friends membership will attend to hear more about what was a surprisingly successful, if eventful season.

The Friends of Stonehaven Open Air Swimming Pool is a voluntary organisation formed to ensure the future of the Open Air Pool when it was threatened with closure in the 90s. The Friends work in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council to maintain and operate the Pool and in April 2011 changed their status to that of SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation).
