Bervie Sports Centre is transformed with over 130 children at Fit for a King.

Children from Bervie and surrounding areas have come in record numbers to the annual holiday club.

An average of 130 children joined ‘Fit for a King’ each morning last week.

Bervie Holiday Club organiser, Margaret Benton, said: “We’ve had a wonderful week. I’m so grateful for the amazing team of leaders and helpers who come together for holiday club. Every summer we have more children at the club, and lots of them come back year after year.”

One parent said: “Daughter’s third time, son’s first and they have both loved every minute.

“Thank you so much to everyone involved, you all do a fantastic job - so much energy and enthusiasm.”

Bervie Holiday Club is led each summer by helpers from local churches in partnership with Scripture Union Scotland.

This year five different churches were involved. ‘Fit for a King’ will be run in hundreds of communities around Scotland during 2014.
