Sergeant Reid looks forward to working with the community in Kincardine and Mearns

Sergeant Simon Reid has joined the Community Police team in Kincardine and Mearns and wants people to get in touch.

The 33-year-old started two weeks ago and is one of five from the team based at the Stonehaven station.

Sergeant Reid commenced his career in 2002, originally in Aberdeen before covering the Buchan area where he was also one of the Community Police team.

He told the Leader and Observer that he was looking forward to working with the community, and encouraged members of the public to get in touch with police.

He added: “We are actively looking for the community to get involved and contact us if they have any problems.

“This is a very safe area and we are looking to maintain that. It is through the local community that priorities are set.

“The team here are very proud of the work they have achieved within the area.”

Priorities in South Aberdeenshire are: acquisitive crime, antisocial behaviour, violence and disorder, national security, public protection, road safety and road crime and serious organised crime and drugs.
